55729. In the meadow in front of the cave there were quite a lot of marbled white butterflies, Melanargia galathea, which were not too timid and therefore received the attention of all of us who enjoy taking pictures.
The images, except for the portrait, where the vertical side measures 450 pixels, are mostly 768
by 1024 pixels in size, numbers in front of the picture descriptions are serial numbers of the original
photo files. The visit to the cave was made possible by the
Dimnice Caving Society from Koper (their web
site is in SLovenian).
Full names of those participating in the photos: Franci Malečkar from Koper, Jože Stražišar,
Peter Žnidaršič and Marina Hribar from Lake Cerknica,
Marco Restaino and Chiara Manfrin from Trieste, Borut Matičič from Postojna and
Boris Macarol from Nova Gorica. The names of parts of the cave are often the author's.
The purpose of the trip was to visit the Queen of Matarsko podolje caves along the usual
tourist route with the expert guide Franci.
This time, due to great interest for the stalagmite with a lion and a cannon,
the tour also included a trail to Male Dimnice (Little Dimnice).
