Jamski zaliv (Cave Bay) at Lake Cerknica
From here and there

November 27 to 30, 2025, 18 pictures

Most images are approximately 768 x 1024 pixels in size, except for the portrait, which is 450 pixels on the long side. Numbers in front of picture descriptions are serial numbers of the original photo files. Nina Plekovec, Mihail Tertičnij, Lorena Vovk, Bor Grošelj Simić, Jakob Dorn, Twan Lange and Matic Špetič - Čekič participated. The names of the cave parts are sometimes the author's.

The purpose of the excursion to Velika Karlovica was to re-test the Alonefire SV96 handheld zoom LED flashlights in a cave environment. Due to the too narrow beam even in the widest mode and the too cold white light, incompatible with the author's floodlights, he has abandoned hope to use them, despite their other advantages (extreme brightness at low weight).

56290. View from the dam at the cave entrance to the outside - the water was a meter and a half below the top of the dam, the path under the author's feet was passable with boots if you walked slowly and carefully.

56294. According to the author's estimate, the water on the inside of the dam was approximately 70 cm lower than on the outside - the turbulent flow reached some 15 meters further from the dam.

56291. Reflections in the pond of the low passage, which on the north side of the dam (far right in the picture) allows access a little further along the north bank of the stream.

56293. Rapids at the beginning of Bukovčev rov, the southern edge of the concrete dam is visible on the left side of the picture, with some daylight. An additional source is the author's headlamp at full power.
