August 20 to 24, 2025, 21 pictures

          The images, except for the portraits, where the vertical side measures 450 pixels, are mostly 768 by 1024 pixels in size, numbers in front of the picture descriptions are serial numbers of the original photo files. Jože Stražišar from Dolenja vas contributed to the success of the excursion on August 24. The names of several parts of the cave are the author's.
          The purpose of the excursion on August 24 was to visit Velika Karlovica again through the tunnel in Rakov Mostek, this time by boat. But the water level was high over the top of the boots at the rake and it was necessary to give up visiting of parts of the cave around Blatna dvorana (Muddy Hall). The author therefore decided to visit Bukovčev rov one more time, through the main entrance, which was still dry.

55922. This time he also brought a small boat, because Jože told him that two days ago he visited the rake with friends and that the water was well over the boots. But to no avail - he could reach the rake by boat, but to get the boat through it, he would have to step out of it. Yet there was no place to put the foot on.

55927. Jože advised taking photos of interesting details in the cave, a task which does not take as much time as the hall photography. The first of them are the strands of white flowstone on the ceiling strata.

55929. Larger tributary niche a little deeper in the cave, with pans and a narrow continuation






 
55930. A piece of styrofoam resembling a cross-section of a bone, about 6 cm in diameter, which was brought by high water into a side crack bordered by smoothed scallops.






 
55931. View from the sandbank at the end of Bukovec Tunnel further inside the cave (middle of the image). The emphasis of the lighting is on reflections - in addition to the author's headlamp and hand-held flashlight with a wide beam, there are two more flashlights with a narrow beam on the sandbank to the left and right, illuminating just the scene above the water.
