Metod Di Batista, Igor Maksim Košir - Ičo, Marjan Juvan - Manč,
Marjan Baričič and Andrej Puc - Fofr participated at the field trip to the cave Radošca 3, which took
place at the same time and also from the same base, shelter Članska vas (Radošca 3.1/13).
Tomaž Planina is also mentioned in the text.
The purpose of this visit to Najdena jama was to take pictures in Piparski rov from
Druga pasaža (The Second Passage) onwards. After the last high water level, no one visited this part of the
cave. As Fofr rightly noted, mud was in abundance there. Quite a few good motifs, so typical of this cave,
of its clay canyons, remained for the next time.
The path to Krokodili (The Crocodiles) on the north side of Piparski rov is not a short one,
and it turned out that any serious photography there would require a change of tactics. If, after making
the Primož Krivic via ferrata above the Baldachine, it is possible to get from the entrance
to Dvorana nad Lijakom, with all the luggage (a backpack with photo equipment and four 2 m long canes
for placing lighting sources at a suitable height) in a good half hour, walking to, for example,
the Crokodiles at the northern end of Piparski rov or back quickly takes an hour. Three obstacles on
the first part of the route that require climbing, the Krivic via ferrata at the beginning, where
self-protection requires a climbing belt, a five-meter drop that can be
overcome with free climbing (in the middle of Ičotov rov)
and a traverse with a similar level of difficulty at the intersection of Ičotovov rov and Dvorana nad Lijakom
require stamina and force, especially on the way back. The transport bag takes its toll, and the canes are
a rather clumsy burden. During moving up they have to be placed very carefully to a new position, so that
they do not slip into the depth, possibly into some inaccessible side crack or abyss. The advice of
veteran comrades regarding a different procedure with canes, which the author did not follow so far, will
have to be taken seriously from now on, with the addition of a fifth cane for walking to the intersection of
Ičotov and Piparski rov. To increase the number of photos from one or two, as in the case of this
excursion, to at least five, it would be a good idea to enter the cave an hour or so earlier. Not at a
quarter past twelve, but at eleven (a. m.).

53492. View to the south, at one of the most alluring motifs in Piparski rov, the Crocodiles. This is how the first-time visitors named the dolomite knives, which were spared by ravages of time, while their limestone enclosure is no longer present in the tunnel. The emphasis is on lighting from the right front to the right, there is no person for scale. Click on a photo, then another, will display it in full resolution.

53496. The same motif, this time with lighting focus on the crocodiles, and with a person for scale. Lighting, in addition to the extra's headlamp at quarter power, consisted of four identical 10W LED floodlights, one illuminating the first four crocodiles diagonally (the third and fourth are fused together), at half power, the other three at quarter power. Two were positioned on the floor, two were hanging by ropes from the protrusions in the ceiling. The fifth one, with 8 W power, of a different brand and a slightly warmer color, unfortunately could not be used - the color temperature changes with distance and it was a bit too yellow. The clay in the tunnel, as Tomaž liked to say, tends to devour the light mercilessly, but if there is enough of it, as in the photo, the clay can shine, too.

53497. End of the fifth, last crocodile, close up.

53499. Little lake at the intersection where the Borisov rov branches off from the Piparski rov (bottom left). View to the north.
